In the current era, the European manufacturing industry faces an unprecedented set of challenges, but also faces a wind of extraordinary opportunities. In an ever-changing global marketplace of increasingly fierce competition and demanding consumers, businesses must constantly renew themselves to remain competitive. And in this context, the Horizon Europe 2021-2027 project stands as a guiding light, uniting artists, technologists and entrepreneurs in a single mission: to shape the future of manufacturing.

At the heart of this revolution is the search for new production paradigms that are both flexible and sustainable. Digital transformation provides the tools for this innovation, enabling new ways of production, business models and customer relationships. Cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are opening up new frontiers of personalization and efficiency, amplifying the value of manufacturers’ portfolios and paving the way for a new way of thinking about manufacturing.

In this scenario, the role of Holonix emerges as crucial. Specializing in IoT and AI technologies and software products, Holonix is a key pillar of the Better Factory project, an integral part of Horizon Europe. Through the synergy of technology components provided by different partners, Holonix aims to create an advanced production planning and scheduling system. This system not only captures and analyzes data directly in the field, but also provides valuable insights to the manufacturing industry, enabling optimal management of production processes.

But innovation does not stop there. Better Factory, in addition to being a place for artists, technologists and entrepreneurs to collaborate, aims to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in manufacturing in exploring new business models and developing customized products. With standardized solutions and financing of up to 200 thousand euros, Better Factory offers SMEs the opportunity to embrace a new way of doing industry, making them more efficient, competitive and sustainable.

In conclusion, the Horizon Europe 2021-2027 project and Holonix’s role in it are just the beginning of a new era for European manufacturing. Through collaboration, innovation and the adoption of new technologies, we are witnessing the emergence of a new manufacturing paradigm, capable of meeting the challenges of the present and the future, and leading Europe into a new era of industrial prosperity.
