Project goals
The project aimed at significantly improving the adoption of CPPS (cyber-physical production systems) all over Europe through the creation and development of regional innovation ecosystems consisting of specialized centers, manufacturing companies and small and medium-sized IT enterprises.
Specifically, it aimed to develop a platform based on a CPS-oriented (cyber-physical system) approach. The result was the creation of a system capable of continuously interacting with the physical system in which it operates. First, the experiment was developed intensively in 5 selected cutting-edge regions (Lombardia in Italy, Euskadi in Spain, Baden Wuertemberg in Germany, Norte in Portugal, Rhone Alpes in France), then it was expanded to all EU regions involving local specialized centers and small and medium enterprises.
